Neil Oakley is a Consultant Urological Surgeon with NHS practice in both Sheffield and Stockport, South Manchester. He was one of the pioneers in minimal invasive surgery in the UK for both Prostate and Kidney cancer, being heavily involved in the development of Laparoscopic and now Robot assisted Prostatectomy and Nephrectomy / Partial nephrectomy. He has been responsible for overseeing the development BAUS laparoscopic training program and has one of the busiest UK surgical practices in this field. He is the Principal investigator at the Sheffield site for the NEUROSAFE trial – a multicentre trial looking at potential benefits of frozen section analysis of prostate tissue intra-operatively during Radical Prostatectomy.
