Radiotherapy developments in management of recurrent rectal cancers

Recurrent rectal cancers are complex and difficult to manage and traditionally these were treated with surgery or palliative intent. However newer treatment modalities using Intraoperative electron radiotherapy (IOERT) and Proton. Beam Therapy (PBT) in treatment of these complex cancers are now used to treat such complex recurrent rectal cancers which can lead to improved local control and better clinical outcomes.
