Digital healthcare in Oncology assessing its impact
Much has been made of the digital transformation in healthcare yet the reality is that often its deployment has been organic or even haphazard. The positive benefits are often unrealised and for many users it becomes a barrier to, rather than an enabler of, high quality healthcare in the 21st century. This talk explores some case studies where digitisation has made positive contributions to healthcare in a major Cancer Centre and looks to the next generation of technology including AI and how to best harness its power. Telling patients stories is a powerful way of identifying where current services fail to serve the users of the service well and identify possible solutions. This focus from a user perspective allows genuine co-production and development of services that are patient centred, clinically led and Research driven.
