The British Association of Medical Tattooing (BAMT) promotes Ethics in Aesthetics

Medical Tattooing is the process of implanting medically certified pigment into the skin to treat a range of conditions including:
nipple / areola post mastectomy and reconstruction
hairloss on brows, lash line and scalp
scarring
skin grafts
hypopigmentation

BAMT is an association set up to ensure that peoples` emotional wellbeing is integral when delivering medical tattoo training and treatment.

The aim is to provide the best outcome for patients by equipping practitioners with research-based protocols and promoting collaborative working across multi-disciplinary teams (e.g. oncologists, dermatologists, plastic surgeons, scar specialists, occupational therapists).

The training package BAMT provides comprises;

Condition specific Medical Tattoo training
Medical history assessments including validated questionnaires to enable practitioners to identify contraindications (e.g. body dysmorphia disorder)

Rae Denman is a Medical Tattooist with extensive experience within the NHS and private practice including the field of oncology. Through medical tattooing she is able to give people back features lost through treatment and surgery such as nipple areola, eyebrows and lashes, hairline and hair density. She also uses medical tattooing to reduce the visibility of scarring, skin grafts and hypo-pigmentation.

Dr Zoe Poole BA, BSc, DClinPsych, CPsychol is a Clinical Psychologist and an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing) Therapist with extensive training both in the NHS and private practice. She offers research-based therapies for a range of difficulties such as psychological adjustment to traumatic events, living with chronic health problems and preparing for future treatments, chronic pain, depression, low self-esteem, anxiety and panic attacks and relationship difficulties.
